Day 17 – Describe or photograph your walk to work. Or journey to work if you use transport. Is it pretty or incredibly dull? Can you find something of interest on your way?
Hmm, considering I currently have 3 part time jobs this is going to be one dull post.
Job 1 – Is a 5 minute walk around the corner. I live on a council estate, it is a nice estate that was built in the 1950’s with lots of open spaces etc, but this is not the most scenic of walks. I have several routes and short cuts to choose from, and one of them includes a path through some flats Rob and I have affectionately nick-named “the projects”. So no photos for this post.
Job 2 – Is working with Rob, helping him with the admin and accounts for his business. Its a walk from our bedroom to the next bedroom. Commute time 5 seconds. Added bonus – sometimes Poppy our cat will come with me to the office.
Job 3 – Another 5 minute walk around the corner in the other direction. Although this is a slightly longer commute that might take me up to 7 minutes. I like this journey as I start at 7am so my walk is lovely and quiet with only birdsong keeping me company. Until I reach the main road that is.
I do appreciate and enjoy living so close to my jobs. Its great to be able to go home for lunch. I used to catch a bus to my old job, and the journey took me 45 minutes to an hour. I hated it. When I moved I still had a 45 minute walk to work, but I enjoyed the walk. Now that I live so near to my jobs, I don’t think I could ever do another soul sucking, long commute on public transport ever again.
